Russia has officially started flu epidemic
Wave of seasonal flu starts sweeping the Russian regions, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. This information led the head of Rospotrebnadzor, chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko. For comparison, last year the influenza epidemic began in the fall and was completed in late December, reports "Interfax".
According to official statistics, now in seven Russian regions exceeded the epidemic threshold for influenza at 10-22%. For these regions are Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, Kemerovo region, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Udmurtia, Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories.
Reached the level of the epidemic threshold incidence of influenza and in St. Petersburg, Karelia, Mari El, Vologda, Tomsk and Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, Sakhalin and the Jewish Autonomous Region – said Onishchenko. As for Moscow, here the incidence increased, though not yet crossed the epidemic threshold significantly (in excess of 7% in children aged 2 years and 7-14 years).
Known to circulate in the country seasonal influenza viruses, parainfluenza, adenovirus, RSV viruses. But influenza H1N1, unlike some European countries, according to the Chief Medical Officer, has not been noticed. First, increase the incidence promotes completion of school holidays and the abnormally warm weather.
Onishchenko calls not to neglect vaccination. This years vaccinations at the expense of the federal budget passed more than 26 million people. Help tackle the epidemic of influenza, and not smoking, alcohol, fresh air and a balanced diet rich in vitamins.
