Received the first vaccine against autoimmune diseases
Israeli experts can stop autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohns disease and even cancer, writes The Daily Mail. Experimental development is already well-proven in testing on animals.
Known that autoimmune diseases develop when the immune system mistakenly recognizes the individual parts of the body as a pathogen. As a result, the body attacks its own cells. But the new vaccine developed by means of nanotechnology, the process stops, without causing serious side effects.
Group leader, to create vaccines, Prof. Irit Sajid of the Weizmann Institute, says: This vaccine will not only treat Crohns disease, but a variety of other ailments.
"We treated mice suffering from Crohns disease that causes chronic inflammation of the intestine, our means. Finally it reduces the degree of intestinal lesions. To say the vaccine is safe for humans, additional research" – Sajid states.
